Grant Hao-Wei Lin is a practicing painter, drawer, sculptor, and visual designer interested in bridging the gap between design and fine art. As a continual exploration of the connection between technological advancement and conceptual expression through traditional medium, Lin’s recent paintings and drawings connects the compositional and formal aspect of design with concept of the reclusiveness of human mind and meditation.
He received his BA, with a major in Cognitive Science and a minor in Art Practice May 2015. Lin is the recipient of numerous awards including The Free Speech Movement 50th Year Anniversary Poster Design 1st Place Award, The 2014 Design for Good 2nd Place Award, The Daily Californian 2012 Best Infographics Award, and Honorable Mention for the Adobe T-shirt Design Contest in 2012. His work was exhibited at the 347 Gallery in Oakland, the Berkeley Art Festival and the Free Speech Movement Café in Berkeley, the Atrium at the UC Berkeley Art Department, and the Sack’s Café in Berkeley.
